I was invited to the Trinidad launch of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Gear. As a tech blogger I am stoked about these things and I know readers look forward to these types of posts judging by the number of views they get. It was an afternoon soiree at the fancy Aria Lounge on the famous Ariapita Avenue strip. Early this morning I had to try and figure out how to travel to get there. Google Maps and twitter to the rescue. I figured I could take a Wrightson Rd. taxi and drop off opposite Fitt St. South and then walk to Ariapita Ave. At least now I can say that I limed on the Avenue. Below is a nice photo story of how the launch went down.
Aria Lounge signage. Big up to the hard working staff.
DJ had my feet tapping.
Welcome area. Reputation Management Caribbean did good as usual in organising the event.
Alternative Quartet entertained the crowd.

Our Wendy Fitzwilliams, Miss Universe 1998, tries out the Note 3.
Faine and K. Rich were present.
Digicel CEO, John Delves and Digicel Marketing Director, Sacha Thompson admire the Gear.
Trinidadian Illustrator, James Hackett draws with the Note 3 and S-Pen.
Nick Lannefranque of Samsung Latin America goes through the product specs.
Samsung Korea Executive says hi to the crowd.
I read this morning that the Note 3 was being region locked. I will have to confirm this but for sure some people not going to like this. I also read in today's Bitdepth column that there are plans for experience stores throughout the region. This has been said before and is nice for the customer but I wonder how retailers feel about this. I saw on facebook where one was opened in Jamaica. Please share your thoughts and comments below.
